Background Information on Thai Yoga Massage
Thai Yoga Massage is called 'Yoga for lazy people!'. Although the receiver is passive, their body is not. Thai yoga massage combines yoga stretches, rhythmic acupressure, rhythmic breathing and reflexology to give the body a complete workout which is unlike holistic massage where the muscle fibres are manipulated.
The Therapist works on one area at a time guiding the patient through a series of movements, consisting of a warm up, then deeper stretching work, followed by a cool down.
Oriental bodywork is based on the theory that the body is made up of 'Sen' or energy lines. The therapist uses their body weight to stimulate these energy lines with their fingers, thumbs, palms or elbows. This releases any tension or blockages in the energy lines which allow the body to re balance and heal itself.
Most people feel the effects immediately but some will feel the effects later after treatment. This treatment is really something else. It is great for people that find a holistic massage not deep enough or that they feel the results only last a few days.
